DATA WE COLLECT
WarWatch collects the minimum data necessary to operate the service. This includes:
— Account data: email address, display name, and hashed password (if using credentials login), or OAuth profile data (if using Google Sign-In).
— Usage data: pages visited, articles read, and report configurations — used solely to improve service quality and personalize your experience.
— Payment data: processed exclusively by Stripe. WarWatch never stores card numbers or billing details.
— Technical data: IP address, browser type, and session tokens for security and fraud prevention.

HOW WE USE YOUR DATA
Your data is used exclusively to:
— Provide and maintain the WarWatch platform and its features.
— Send AI-generated conflict intelligence reports you have configured.
— Process subscription payments via Stripe.
— Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, or unauthorized access.
— Improve our conflict scoring and article ranking algorithms.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

DATA RETENTION
Account data is retained for the duration of your account. Upon account deletion, personal data is purged within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
News articles are retained for 50 days from publication. AI-generated reports are cached for up to 6 hours. Delivery logs are retained for 90 days for service diagnostics.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
WarWatch integrates with the following third-party providers:
— Stripe: payment processing (subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy)
— Google OAuth: optional authentication (subject to Google's Privacy Policy)
— Resend: transactional email delivery
— Anthropic: AI report generation (article content may be processed)
Each provider operates under their own privacy policy and data processing agreements.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
— Access the personal data we hold about you.
— Request correction of inaccurate data.
— Request deletion of your account and associated data.
— Object to or restrict certain processing activities.

SECURITY
We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, hashed password storage, and JWT-based session management. No system is impenetrable — if you discover a security vulnerability, please disclose it responsibly via our contact page.
