Taiwan MND live-fires new domestic 105mm Cheetah gun system; 178 units planned by 2027

Taiwan’s MND publicly demonstrated its domestically developed 105mm "Cheetah" mobile gun system in a live-fire exercise for the first time on Sept. 23. The vehicle engaged moving and stationary targets at ranges of 1–1.2 km and fired its main gun and coaxial machine gun simultaneously to simulate engaging amphibious combat vehicles. The MND plans to procure 178 vehicles, with mass production scheduled to begin in 2027. The latest design is roughly 30 cm lower than the original prototype and has
