US-Denmark security deal grants US 'permanent control' over Greenland

INTELLIGENCE SUMMARY

US and Denmark have announced a deal on Greenland's security. Trump said the agreement would grant the US 'permanent control over security, and all other needs'. Greenland is rich in critical minerals, including rare earth elements that are important for modern technology, energy and defense industries. Trump had pushed to buy or take control of Greenland for months, arguing that Russia and China could pose a threat there. He had even threatened military action over the issue.
