Trump suggests renaming Strait of Hormuz 'Trump Strait' US President Donald Trump suggested renaming the Strait of Hormuz the "Trump Strait" in a post to Truth Social on Wednesday, despite control of the waterway remaining contested amid the US war on Iran. "Now that we have it under U.S.A. control, should we change the name Hormuz Strait to TRUMP STRAIT??? Like America itself, it would be 'hotter' than ever before!" he said. It is the latest geographical name change floated by Trump and comes a week after he ordered Lake Ontario to be renamed as "Lake America".
