Iran’s foreign ministry calls US economic plan to isolate Tehran 'pure parody'
Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei mocked the US economic plan to isolate Tehran as "pure parody".
"Washington’s Iran policy has reached pure parody," he said in a post on X.
"It turns to Bahrain - a country with virtually no meaningful economic exchange with Iran - to prove that its “coalition” is working," he said, referring to an earlier call between the US Treasury Secretary and Bahraini finance minister.
During the call, Scott Bessent and Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa discussed the latest sanctions against Tehran.
