Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa on Lebanon: I believe that the Shiite community today is in greater need than ever of a rescue effort within the Lebanese situation, and together with it we must rescue Lebanon. God knows that I care deeply about this issue, because the loss of any component of Lebanon is a loss for the entire region. I do not subscribe to the idea that all Shiites in Lebanon are Hezbollah, nor that Hezbollah represents all Shiites in Lebanon.
