The ministry said he was killed by Israeli gunfire near the town of al-Ram.</p> <p data-end="589" data-start="432">A relative told AFP that Ashtiyeh, a construction worker, had been attempting to cross the barrier with several other men in order to reach work in Tel Aviv.</p> <p data-end="714" data-start="591">“But then he was shot while attempting to climb over,” Omer, a relative who gave only his first name, told the news agency.</p> <p data-end="871" data-start="716">An AFP journalist at the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah saw Ashtiyeh's body wrapped in a Palestinian flag as grieving relatives gathered around him.</p> </section> </div> </div> </article>
