Israel 'sent advanced laser defence system to UAE' during Iran war

<article data-history-node-id="439387" about="https://www.middleeasteye.net/live-blog/live-blog-update/israel-sent-advanced-laser-defence-system-uae-during-iran-war" class="live-blog-update default clearfix"> <h2> <a href="https://www.middleeasteye.net/live-blog/live-blog-update/israel-sent-advanced-laser-defence-system-uae-during-iran-war" rel="bookmark"> <span class="field field-title">Israel 'sent advanced laser defence system to UAE' during Iran war</span> </a> </h2> <div class="content"> <div class="field field-field-text"><p><a href="https://www.middleeasteye.net/countries/israel" target="_blank">Israel</a>&nbsp;supplied the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.middleeasteye.net/countries/uae" target="_blank">United Arab Emirates</a>&nbsp;with a laser defence system and other advanced weapons during the war on Iran, the Financial Times&nbsp;<a href="https://www.ft.com/content/6247449b-5a73-47a8-8cd4-c8ef295e6776?syn-25a6b1a6=1" target="_blank">reported</a>&nbsp;on Thursday.</p> <p>A version of Israel’s Iron Beam laser defence system was sent to Abu Dhabi to help defend against Iranian drones and missiles, two people familiar with the matter said.</p> <p>The advanced system, first deployed by Israel in December 2025, is designed to intercept short-range rockets and drones.</p> <p>A lightweight surveillance system known as Spectro was also supplied, the report said.
