Saudi Arabia has offered the Houthis a two-week ceasefire followed by direct talks on humanitarian issues, with the aim of reaching a comprehensive agreement, the Hezbollah-affiliated Lebanese daily al-Akhbar reports. The offer was passed through Oman after Saudi contacts with the U.S., Egypt, Pakistan and Oman. Riyadh also signaled willingness to lift the blockade on Yemen and allow aid in. The Houthis are said to be unenthusiastic, seeking a final settlement instead.

The United States on Thursday said it had approved a $24.3 billion sale of 48 F-35 stealth warplanes to Saudi Arabia. Israel has previously voiced concerns about Riyadh buying F-35s, despite a push to normalise relations.

The Russians are putting pressure along the entire line of contact. A total of 230 combat clashes have occurred over the past day, most of them on the Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka fronts.
